Teaching yoga has given me a voice to share what inspires and helps me in my life. The more I teach the more I embody what I know, so it’s a symbiotic relationship. A regular yoga practice helps me to maintain improved mobility, enables me to correct body mechanics and posture, and manage old injuries. In the past, my body was frequently heavy with pain and I found no answers until I embraced a regular routine of yoga asanas and self-study. Yoga supports me to remain active, strong and gives me something to turn to when I feel pain in my own body. My journey continues and through my experiences both on and off the mat, I learn more everyday. Sharing both my professional and personal knowledge with my students brings me great fulfillment.
I am a trained yoga instructor (E-RYT 500-Yoga Alliance) with a focus on therapeutics. I also bring over twenty years of insight gained through my own yoga practice and working with therapists on chronic pain and mental health. I put my personal experiences and certified training to work for you. I empower you with a personalized experience and present you with tools for daily use. I aim to inspire each of you to walk your own healthy path & align with inspired self care.

The science of yoga is universal in its approach. Practicing yoga aids us in understanding how the body, mind and spirit are connected. Our awareness of this interconnectedness can assist us to understand ourselves and how we navigate through life. Yoga is more than a physical practice; it also offers tools to heal subconscious patterns and mental wounding. Developing awareness through self-observation is another of yoga’s offerings. Once we gain this self-knowledge, we can find the path to healing our aches and pains in both our physical and emotional bodies.
In my teachings, I encourage self awareness and work with principles of alignment that are universal to any posture, age and fitness level. The principles are an effective system to maintain a healthy lifestyle and will enable active healing from injuries and bring you closer to optimal alignment.
When we are optimally aligned, there is improvement in energy flow such as breath, blood circulation and nerve signals. When we are aligned, there are less impingements and we feel in better spirits.
Some key benefits of the alignment principles are:
- Improve strength and confidence in your body while fully extending outwards.
- Hold the pelvis correctly while aligning the legs and spine to inhabit a pain-free posture.
- Develop awareness of how the body and mind are connected.
- Increase stamina, confidence and understanding.
- Develop stronger physical balance while also helping to achieve a balanced outlook on life.
The knowledge gained on the mat is transferable to life off the mat. The principles of alignment learned during your practice can be applied in daily life to better align your body and increase mobility. The healing power of yoga is a proactive approach for enjoying a dynamic and healthy lifestyle for years to come.
